About the Bosses
Hailing from Oakland, CA, Bossasaurus has spent the last several years gaining a reputation as electronic music’s genre busters. Between their remixes for the likes of Aesop Rock, J* Davey, Wu-Tang Clan, Zagar and Tech N9ne, and original instrumental masterpieces they have garnered a strong wave of positive buzz from URB, 2dopeboyz, The SF Guardian and many others. Their first official mixtape STFUYMCA in the end of 2009 was met with critical acclaim from fans and bloggers alike. Live performances followed shortly after and their energetic yet beautiful sets rapidly attracted further fans as well as cementing them as a double-threat in the studio and on stage.

The path to the current brink of their first all original release has been challenging and full of constant change. Originally conceived as the musical lovechild of an elementary school teacher and board game marketer, Bossasaurus poured their creative energy into creating hours of lush, layered genre-less electronic music. Severe victims of musical ADHD, each song they created became a completely new exploration of sound, refusing any chance of seeming monotonous next to other musical siblings. Somehow, incorporating a plethora of styles, disparate influences, bizarre instruments and left-field samples, their base material coalesced to form a cohesive sound unlike any other.

After their acclaimed remixes quickly settled into the hearts and ears of fans, DJ’s, bloggers and other tastemakers, a passion to release their own material was inevitable. For the last six months, between producing music for numerous other artists, Bossasaurus has scoured their collection of unheard material to form sonic tour de space that is Lacerta. Being their first all original album, Lacerta was a collage of their experiences traveling, digging and staring off into the cosmos (when time allowed). November 30th will see the digital release of Lacerta, followed by a deluxe physical release with unheard remixes and bonus tracks in January 2011.
The rest of 2011 will see Bossasaurus releasing their debut full-length album, as well as developing their rapidly escalating reputation as one of the most exciting up and coming acts in the electronic music production game.
